We offer a variety of live and virtual workshops specifically designed for professionals new to the Montessori environment. Become comfortable with Montessori norms and terminology, and feel empowered to integrate your services seamlessly into a Montessori environment.
Montessori 101
A Montessori classroom is a unique space with a specific structure for how children learn and how adults engage. This workshop is ideal for school staff, substitute teachers, related-service providers, and anyone who is interested in gaining an understanding of Montessori philosophy and its application. Participants will develop knowledge of basic Montessori terms, become comfortable working in Montessori classrooms, and learn to provide more Montessori-compatible instructional and therapeutic spaces for children.
Montessori-Friendly Evaluations and Interventions
As the experts in our fields, we pride ourselves on using best practices for evaluations and treatment. When encountering the Montessori pedagogy, we can benefit from guidance on assessment tools and evidence-based interventions that are Montessori-friendly and culturally-responsive, as well as direction on how to weave intervention into the Montessori classroom. This workshop will empower you to share your expertise in ways that align with Montessori schools’ philosophy and Montessori students’ routines, norms, and learning styles.
Montessori Basics for Teaching Artists
3-Part Virtual Workshop
The intersections and parallels between Montessori pedagogy and the work of Teaching Artists are numerous. From keen observation to living in the moment, from following a child's creative impulse to pure self-expression, Montessori teachers and TAs maintain similar values, even if their work sometimes looks very different from the outside. This workshop is designed specifically for Teaching Artists as a way to tap into the long-standing power of Montessori pedagogy and use it in any setting. It will provide Teaching Artists access to many of the skills Montessori teachers use daily to provide individualized learning, as well as deeply cooperative communities. These concrete tools, especially in classroom management, can be both beneficial and empowering for Teaching Artists. Participants in this workshop will develop a variety of capabilities to use in their work with children in both Montessori and non-Montessori schools, allowing them to more effectively reach every child and better manage any classroom.
